APPLY NOW - https://ct9r.short.gy/VYm882 Rank: 2ND OFFICER Contract: 4 +/-1 months Embarkation: 15.09.2026 Type: PASS Size: 41662 t / 2000 pass capacity/192 m length The Second Officer is responsible for navigational watchkeeping, voyage planning, chart corrections, and maintenance of navigational publications and bridge equipment onboard. The role supports the Master and Staff Captain in ensuring safe navigation, compliance with international maritime regulations, and efficient bridge operations. The Second Officer also plays a key role in safety management, emergency preparedness, and operational coordination onboard Crown Iris. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES A. Navigation & Watchkeeping Maintain safe navigational watch in accordance with: STCW requirements COLREGS Company procedures Master’s standing orders Monitor vessel position, course, speed, traffic, weather, and navigational hazards. Ensure proper bridge watchkeeping standards at all times. Operate navigational equipment including: Radar ECDIS GPS AIS GMDSS equipment Echo sounder Bridge alarm systems B. Voyage Planning & Chart Management Prepare detailed voyage plans for approval by the Master. Maintain and update nautical charts and publications. Perform weekly and voyage-specific chart corrections. Ensure ECDIS and navigation systems are updated and operational. C. Safety & Emergency Duties Participate in emergency response organization according to Muster List duties. Assist with safety drills, passenger musters, and emergency preparedness. Ensure navigational bridge equipment related to safety is operational and tested. Support implementation of ISM procedures and safe navigation practices. D. Bridge Equipment & Maintenance Monitor condition and performance of bridge equipment. Report defects and coordinate repairs with Technical Department. Maintain navigation logs, records, and bridge documentation. Conduct routine tests of navigational and communication systems. E. Security & Regulatory Compliance Ensure compliance with: SOLAS STCW MARPOL ISM Code ISPS Code Flag State and Class requirements Participate in security duties as assigned by Ship Security Officer. F. Cargo, Stability & Port Operations Support Assist Staff Captain with stability calculations and operational planning when required. Support port operations and mooring activities as assigned. Participate in embarkation and disembarkation operational coordination. G. Administration & Reporting Maintain navigational records, bridge logs, and voyage documentation accurately. Prepare reports related to navigation and bridge operations. Assist during inspections, audits, and Port State Control examinations. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS Valid Officer of the Watch (OOW) Certificate of Competency in accordance with STCW requirements. Previous experience as Second Officer or navigational officer onboard passenger or cruise vessels preferred. Valid GMDSS General Operator Certificate. Strong knowledge of ECDIS, radar navigation, and bridge resource management. Good command of English language, written and spoken. Strong situational awareness and decision-making ability. Leadership and teamwork skills in multicultural environment. STCW Basic Safety Training and all mandatory certificates valid.
