Important notice
Crewings is a platform where seafarers and maritime companies find each other. We are not an employer, a crewing agency, a manning agent or a training centre, and we are not a party to any contract between a seafarer and a company. Please read this notice together with the Terms of Service.
01What Crewings does and does not do
Our role
We do:
- publish vacancies posted by companies and collected from public sources;
- maintain a directory of crewing companies, training centres and courses;
- let seafarers create a CV and apply to vacancies, and let companies view profiles and contact candidates;
- show statuses, ratings and reviews that users and our team attach to companies.
We do not:
- select, recruit, employ or place seafarers, or negotiate contracts on anyone's behalf;
- verify every vacancy, company, certificate, course or review, although we check what we can;
- guarantee that a vacancy is open, that a company will reply, or that an application leads to a contract;
- take part in payments between seafarers and companies or in their employment relationship.
02Vacancies and company information
- Vacancies are written by the companies that post them or come from public sources. Salaries, contract lengths, requirements and dates may be outdated or inaccurate; confirm them with the company before acting.
- Company profiles are compiled from the company's own submissions and from public sources. A profile on Crewings does not mean that we endorse the company or vouch for its licences.
- Counters (numbers of vacancies, companies and positions) are approximate and change constantly.
03Statuses, ratings and reviews
Verified, blacklisted, scam reports
- The Verified status means that we confirmed the company's identity and contact details at a point in time. It is not a guarantee of the company's conduct.
- Blacklisted and Scam reports reflect complaints from users and our own findings. They are opinions held at the time they were made; a company may dispute them by writing to [email protected].
- Reviews and ratings are written by users, express their personal experience and are not verified by us. We remove reviews that breach the Terms of Service.
04Recruitment fees and fraud
Never pay for a job
Under the Maritime Labour Convention 2006 (Standard A1.4) a seafarer must not be charged, directly or indirectly, for recruitment or placement. Finding and applying for work and placement through Crewings are always free for seafarers; the only paid seafarer service is the optional Premium access to crewing-company contacts. If anyone — a company, an "agent" or somebody claiming to act for Crewings — asks you to pay for a vacancy, a visa, a ticket, a "guarantee", "processing" or "document verification", treat it as fraud: do not pay, do not send copies of your documents, and report it to [email protected] or with the "Report a scam" button in the app. We never ask seafarers to pay for a vacancy, a visa, documents or placement and never write to you from addresses outside the crewings.me domain.
05Training centres, courses and reference information
The catalogue of training centres, courses and seafarer documents is reference information collected from the centres' websites and from public registers of maritime administrations. Requirements for certificates depend on the flag state, the position and the administration and may change without our knowledge. A training contract is made directly with the centre; we are not a party to it and receive no payment for courses. Check a centre's accreditation with the relevant maritime administration before you pay.
06No professional advice
Content on Crewings — including blog articles, support answers and AI-assisted suggestions — is general information. It is not legal, tax, immigration, medical or career advice and does not replace the advice of a qualified professional or the requirements of your flag state.
07Third-party links and services
Crewings contains links to third-party websites, maps, messengers and app stores. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, availability or privacy practices. The Privacy Policy lists the third-party services we use ourselves.
08Software provided "as is"
Site, app and beta versions
The website, the mobile app, the Telegram bot and the API are provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep them accurate and running, but we do not promise that they are free of errors or interruptions. Beta versions of the app may be unstable, may lose test data and may change without notice.
09Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising from the use of, or the inability to use, Crewings; from the actions or omissions of companies, seafarers or other third parties; or from reliance on information published on the platform. Nothing in this notice limits liability that cannot be limited by law, and nothing removes the rights you have as a consumer under the law of your country. The full allocation of liability is set out in section 12 of the Terms of Service.
10Governing law
This notice is part of the Terms of Service and is governed by the law of Ukraine. The dispute resolution procedure is described in the Terms of Service.
